We have been partying a little bit too much for a couple of days. Why? I guess we push each other to doing that. So today Im sleeping in at the bungalow just looking at tv, surfing the net and thinging of life.

Dinner at Buffalo Bill

Me in black to the left, yupp the fatty, we are at Buffalo Bill , Koh Chang , having steak, yes sometimes other food than Thai is needed. I had the smallest 200gr beef steak you ever have seen ... but it was good :-)
We got the Jail house, at first we thought it would be bad but it turn out fine, temp at night is not hot it is below 20 centegrades.

I think I promised you something ...

Yes I did promised that in December I would reviel the actual Thailand vacation destination.
So what place is it do you think, my friends going with me have been to this island last Christmas but I haven't been there.

We will be here for the first week and it will be over Christmas so we will celebrate it on the beach. The next coming days between Christmas and Newyears Eve we will go for the near by island as long there are any hotel rooms available , it could be difficult in the Peak season but Im hopeful of getting some pretty nice bungalows at the beach.

Ok, all this would not happen if the demonstrators occupy the international airport and I hope they will not, still nobody know at this point of time.

This is not good for the Thai tourism or how the rest of the world will see on Thailand, the BANANA REPUBLIC number one!!??!?
Still I hope they can resolve the conflict and come to an agreement, I do not want to see the "revolution" such in 2010 ... was it in 2010 ... well something like that and then we were worried as well as we were going for vacation to Thailand at that time.

I/we have always had the goal of going to a Thai cooking lesson when in Thailand but never come to it ... I guess that's to all the other distractions such as: nice beaches, snorkling, viewpoints, boat tours, fishing, "mopeding",  night time bars, relaxing, enjoying life ... 

Don't Thai to me

A new concept is created in a number southeast asian countries: Dont Thai to me. Translated as: do not lie to me, cheat me not. I think Thailand alias "The Land of Smiles" need to take this seriously if neighboring countries actually have stated this. I have just read it in another blog so I cannot confirm it.
But if you have been in Thailand, you have probably been scammed in some way, either you know it or not. Perhaps, scam is not the issue in the accusation.

Still, the Thai maffia, jetski maffia, taxi maffia, corrupted police, russian maffia and tuctuc cartell will somehow get to you ... if you don't stay away from all this shit that can be connected to anything criminal. So if your a whole family going to Thailand your still safe, it's only persons who get involved with stuff that they think is OK because they are in another country and think "Im immortal" then everything is OK ( most often youth and older men and Russians and ...)
It is NOT OK, Thailand has ZERO tolerance on drugs as an example.
So do not use them, EVER!!!

I have had some Mojitos in Thailand because it is a refreshing drink when done the right way but most drinks in Thailand are not good at all. For example your wanting a sweet iscold drink and what you will get, 95% of time is a sour drink, It must have something to do with culture or the lack of bartender education ;-)

Im been really busy at work and haven't had time ... ok well time I probably have but I actully have forgotten to write any blogposts here on my Thailand blog.

I'm planning on doing some relaxing beach movies when I'm in Thailand and perhaps I will edit some videos and post them here or at my youtube channel, some simple ones I should probably be able to post. I haven't edit any movies with iMovie on my MacBook yet but hope to learn, I guess it is pretty easy.

One month left

Yesterday there were one month left until takeoff and the flight till Thailand, YEEEES!!! ;-) So now the countdown can begin for real.

I first feared that we had got some really bad seats but I was so wrong I have now checked the flight/plane and it's Boieng 777-300 and we are on row 26 which seems to be really good seats however I do not know much about the plane but it seems to be pretty old.

well if it is the right translation yepp one guy in the bunch of four people actually now said that we should not stay at the island archipelagic for long,  fine by me anyway, but getting plane tickets are tuff at our point of time being there. IT IS PEAK SEASON IN THAILAND!!!

Sad memories of emtpy beaches.

No we were not there when then Sumani hit at this area of Phuket, we were at home in Sweden thinking about, should we go or stay, but we decided to go and spend some money as tourist's and by that make the "Devil" or make remorse go away. And why not, it was ... we payed people right to there hands who needed it, that was actually rewarding to us!

Can I say so!?!?

When we were im Bangkok we decided to go to Phuket instead of Samui, our thought went like this:

- Phuket people need help

- so let's go there and spend money ... that will help directly

so from Bangkok we flew to Phuket stayed in two different hotels, eating at different places and then went to Koh Samui, so I hope my friends and I  did something difference by spending money in Phuket at that time.

Edit:

We were there at Phuket for 1.5 week if remember right and the beaches were totally empty, one friend told me that this were here, that should be here and oooh this is still standing, horrible but what a phenomenal work the Thailand people had done in just a month after the TSUNAMI that we should never forget.

I have been searching for hotels which have available rooms and it is not easy.
Thailand has the peak/high seasong beginning now and until about the beginng of mars so getting rooms is hard at the most popular areas and we are going to one of those areas.

My favorite hotel search engine is Agoda but now it cannot get me any rooms ... damn!!!
Still our first week is booked and there is more than a month until the trip to Thailand is starting, perhaps we can find rooms on site in Thailand.

Amazing Thailand

As Im surfing around the net trying to find information about Thailand I will also add some of the findings as links here so it will be shared with you. I have been to Thailand several times but still need information on the new places Im going to. Links to the places Im going to on this trip will be served in december.

Of course Google or any search engine on the net is the first choice when trying to find information on anything or you can always talk friends that you know have some information on the subject ;-)

Thailand BANGKOK

The first stop in Thailand is of course, BANGKOK ;-)
But we are not going to stay here for long and hopefully it will only be minutes if everything goes as planned. We have arranged transport by the hotel from the famous Suvarnabhumi airport of Bangkok to our second stop and there we already have booked a hotel for the first week. More on the location in december. We have not yet booked any other hotels/bungalows for the other weeks but some plans are made and if we are not booking from Sweden then it will be made on site.
As a friend always is saying, "We have time ...", in Swedish "Vi hinner ..." but as always time runs out and you you missout things we were going to do so I think it is better to have something planned and go with that.

Train from Arlanda airport

We've now booked the travelling from the airport back to our hometown of Eskilstuna. It is not funny to write a post on something that is going to happen after a trip to Thailand but still it is important the have this already booked. It going to by train as I have mentioned before, we're pretty satisfied with the time it will take and the best is we're not going to have to wait outside for long time in the winter, snowy Sweden to change train in Sala. It is just going to be 10 minutes and that's OK.

Well it was at the 7th of March 2013 so that was some month ago isn't, why not plan ahead and make sure you have soemthing to look forward too!?!?

Now we are just figuring out when and how the best traveling back from Arlanda is going to be made.
OK, it will be by train that's for sure. But there are issues that have to be considered such as:
- when will actually the flight with Turskish Airlines arrive ... all latest flights with them have been late
- do we want to relax at Arlanda waiting on the train back to Älsklingstuna(Eskilstuna)
- do we want to spend more money on train ticket to go earlier or in Firstclass
- do we want a longer "stop over" to get a better earlier train time
- ... there is more ...

Flight dates or vacation dates

We will fly from Arlanda Airport, Stockholm Sweden on the 19th of December 2013 to Survanabhumi Airport, Bangkok, Thailand.

We also have stopover at Istanbuls Airport called Ataturk in Turkey

The flight back will have the same destinations but reversed of course ;-)

The date of reversed flights is 17th of January 2014 so it almost a month of sunshine, beer and good food.

I should say that we are not all flying home to Sweden at the same date ... yeah it is complicated but two guys will go home 2 days earlier but we will all travel back to Bangkok at the sametime so I and one friend will stay in Bangkok making it unsafe for your wifes and daugthers ...

I love the busy, chaotic, smelly, hot BANGKOK.

We will stay there for two nights, any recommendations on hotels, we been to Bangkok 3-4 times already but recommendations of hotels and what to do is always appreciated.
